Imprecision and Intelligent Systems in Manufacturing

Some thoughts on the use of imprecision in intelligent systems are presented. Examples from knowledge-based systems, robotics and manufacturing are used to illustrate several methods that artiicial intelligence proposes in order to model imprecision.
